my wife is a vegetarian -- which pretty much makes me a vegetarian. she doesn't mind that i gotta have a steak every now and then, and there are days when the tofu menu ain't cutting it. looking at shit like this though, just makes me want to go out and eat a juicy steak. the yiddish word is chutzpah - PETA 'Holocaust' project

sigh. i feel really old now. like all of you i remember watching mr. rogers as a kid. right after sesame street and the electric company, there came this nice guy with his cardigans and cool puppets. later of course there was eddie murphy on SNL breaking into the neighborhood. a gentle poke at an icon, mr. rogers by all accounts took the joke in stride. i mean how could you not like the guy? a class act all around. check out the obit, and tribute: CNN.com - 'Mister Rogers' dies at age 74

looking at this makes me feel kinda old but what a great run this show has had, huh? as the article notes, the real golden age of its writing began when the focus shifted from bart to homer j. this article in entertainment weekly is also worth checking out just a side note here, i'm usually not a big fan of entertainment weekly; i think its a key reason along with maxim that journalism has been reduced to listings. still this one of the best simpsons episodes brought back some good memories, and late night dorm discussions. four out of the top five all came from the '93 season. definitely when i watched the show on a "must see" basis, and definitely the show's creative peak.
