well the first week of law school is over, and i think i've more than held my own. while i was hitting the books its seems i missed some fun stuff on the mtv video music awards. wow!

and in a completely different vein, transcripts were released today detailing more about what went on in the wtc during 9/11. although disturbing and heart rending i think every american should read these transcripts. we saw evil that day, but we also saw heroism, these sad stories are ultimately inspiring.

now i'm off to washington island for the weekend!

i may have spoken too soon. criminal law was just as good as law skills. big lecture room, but with the never-dull-subject matter and a good prof. this is going to be a great course. i've now been to all my classes at least once and overall i'm happy with them. i've found the most stressful thing this week not to be the classwork but the pre-bar character and fitness form. more on that later.

so law school started yesterday. lots of butterflies in my tummy, but i survived. day 2 and i still like all of my classes and professors thus far -- haven't be grilled socratically yet. right now its looking like my favorite class will be the smallest one, called law skills. roughly me and 17 other students in a small classroom where we learn legal writing. i've always fancied myself as a decent writer, getting a good grade with this professor will be a real challenge. off to the library for some study time.

this is pretty funny. my friend, dave in san fran is running as a write in candidate for governor of california. check out his blog and platform.

this is a great time to be in the windy city. both the sox and the cubs are in contention. it should be a fantastic finish in september.

so much going on these past few weeks, i think i can forgive myself for the lack of recent updates. too much going on to write. for starters moved to chicago with the help of lots of wonderful friends. law school orientation just ended today 8/19-21st. classes start this monday. today began the laborious process of moving this site over to a new isp. i've had a great 2 1/2 years @ yahoo but this new place gives me so much more space and bandwidth for 1/2 the cost. please be patient if links don't work and you get a lot of 404 messages, this migration may take a while on my little dial up. more news soon. . .
