feeling better. drinking LOTS of lemon tea with honey.

lots going on to talk about. can't get enough of the new nelly furtado single, 'powerless'. nelly continues to defy classification, long live ecleticism! and i just heard the new alicia keys song, 'you don't know my name'; saw the video (with mos def) this a.m. on vh1. the piano hook reminds of the start of donny hathaway's 'song for you.' but i gotta double check.

seems like this is the week that cartoonist are coming out of the secluision. as i mentioned back on monday the story about calvin & hobbes, creator bill watterson, along comes a story about gary larson of the farside. he's just released the textual equivalent of a box set. good articles about his work here: npr story and ap story

genius | noun | genius
1. extraordinary intellectual and creative power.
2. a person who has a high intelligence quotient, typically above 140.

growing up reading the comics section in the late 80's and early 90's one had the privilege of reading the works of genius. the late charles schulz's peanuts, berkely breathed's bloom county, gary larson's the far side, and bill watterson's calvin and hobbes. this is a great article on the reclusive watterson that's well worth reading.

for those that remember this was the last strip that ran 12/13/95.
