well, i'm reggie newton. i really do exist, that's not a stage name or anything. this isn't really a
bio page, but i'm the proprieter of this here web site. its for both business and pleasure.
why not? walt whitman wrote, "i sound my barbaric YAWP over the roofs of the world." i think i know what ol' walter was trying to say. it's why everyone and their brother has a
blog these days. a belief that your opinion matters and w/o a lot of $$ invested, on a web site you have an opportunity to sound off. not to just
rant about crappy movies and the like, but in some ways to create an extension of yourself.
if you want to get to know someone, look at their cd collection. what's their favorite movie? what's the last good book they read? what's the joke they love to tell their friends? that's why, and i think that explanation is as good as any, why anyone would want a web site. its an open invitation for the world to get to know you.
on a good ol'
macintosh that answers to the name opus. coding done with adobe golive cyberstudio and bbedit. other software used on this site include:
photoshop, flash, quicktime pro editor, sound edit 16.
the front page of this site is based on a design by whompy. i added some stuff like a clock, random quotes, and some other cosmetic changes. but here's a peek a the
original version from open source web design. see i "borrowed" a lot of it -- but with complete carte blanche from the original designer.
in the further interest of full disclosure the clock and much of the java code would not have been at all possible without help from some online sources and they are:
webmonkey.com and
dynamicdrive.com and
flashkit.comsee aren't my faq great? i'm like a magician showing you what's up my sleeve and where the little bunny really goes. but wait there's more. . .
feel free to
download my cascading style sheet if you like the look of this site. the primary font i use is variations of verdana. i like the way it looks the same on both pcs and macs. my colors aren't really web safe, but let's face it the web only allows 216-256 colors. who in the world doesn't have their monitor set to millions of colors?! those same people that have a browser that can't see frames. and you know what nuts to those people! anyone looking at the web in a browser that can't see frames and the like doesn't deserve to see my page. sorry that's just the way it is.
moving right along, the nifty font i used for the headers is called plush. courtesy of the good talented folks at
fontalicious.com. for the header in the
cold storage section i used another
fontalicious creation called frosty.
i wish i could recall where the
droplet image originally came from. methinks its a stock photo image, anyway i did a little manipulation on it so its all mine now.
the
blog at least once a week. everything else just depends on my very busy schedule.
well first things first. if you're on a dial-up modem i'd say talk to a friend with a cable or T1 modem. some of these movie files are just HUGE. sorry i can't make them any smaller.
right click [or if on a mac just hold your mouse] until the prompt "save target as" appears. select a destination and away you go.
99% of these movies are in the quicktimeformat. on the
front page are links to the apple site where you can download the
plugin. can't say enough about it. if you plan on watching movies on the web, its a must have.
these movies and mp3s have been compressed with a program called
aladdin stuffit. its free and compatible with both macintosh and pcs.
if you looking for an mp3 player. for macintosh users download
itunes and folks on a pc i recommend
winamp or the
windows media player.
